Bull Ogre Info
The Bull Ogres are going to be my Ogre Kingdoms army. I really love the old metal Minotaur models, and think they would make an awesome themey Ogre army. So, in an attempt to use all the Mino models that would otherwise sit in the box for 8th Edition; I decided to do this project. When I started I was already about half-way to having all the 'Ogre' models that I would need done. That meant that I'd have to work on some additional Ogres/Iron Guts, the monsters, mounted troops, and other worthwhile Ogre Kingdoms unit choices. This page will contain all the Bull Ogre units. I will duplicate entries that are also on the Beastmen gallery pages, for the sake of completeness (that will likely only be the Minotaurs themselves, and maybe the Chaos Hounds). Those duplicate entries will be labelled per their Ogre Kingdoms army entry here.
Bull Ogre Shaman (Ogre Butcher/Slaughter Master)
The first model completed specifically for the Bull Ogre army. He is based on the Belakor Daemon model, with an old metal Minotaur head. The staff bit is something I kept from some model I had many years ago, just for such a project. The rest of him is a load of green stuff.
Ogres
I currently have 2 units of 6 of these beasts, both with full command. They are armed with two hand weapons each. As I convert up more, I will add shields to some of them, in case Iron Fists prove handy. These guys are all converted, beyond the obvious weapon swaps and mutations. I have sculpted hooves on all the ones that had feet originally. Their heads were lifted up to the top of their shoulders, instead of jutting out forward from the top of their chests. Then the neck was properly filled with fur/muscle.
Iron Guts
These guys are distinguished by the weapons they carry. So far I have a unit of 4.
Sabertusks
The will be using the Warhounds as Sabertusks at first. If they work well, I will probably put together some new custom models to fill this role. I will likely only field two or three of these guys, as individual units.
Mournfang Cavalry
I plan on having two units of Mournfang at some point. Each 4 strong. The first is made up of custom built Razorgor Chariots, being driven by Minotaurs. The bases were made so that the Razorgor could be pulled off of them if need be, they're attached with magnets. That required putting the Razorgor on 40mm bases instead of 50mm ones. The chariots themselves were pretty hacked up. I started with 2 Beastmen chariots, and 2 Orc chariots. After much hacking, I rebuilt the necessary components from green stuff. The Razorgor models are models that I always strongly disliked. I chose them for this project because they are really massive, and fit the beasty theme of what I am going for. I heavily converted them, as you can see. The eyes were all fixed, the horns and such were remodeled a bit, the teeth were repositioned on a few of them, they were covered in fur, the terrible club-tails were cut off, and they had chariot trappings added. The Minotaur drivers haven't been completed yet, since they cannot be done properly until all the chariots are done being painted. I want them to look like they belong in the chariots, and I wasn't sure exactly how the chariots would turn out as far as their exact final positioning. The one you see being worked on here is the unit champ, he has the head of an old-school Tuskgor. Stay tuned for updates here...
